I received excellent care when the surgery was Clayton and Scott, but after it was bought out or rebranded, although the reception and admin staff were still very helpful and friendly, the actual dental care and advice was awful. Since my Dentist has changed to Dr Ali, it has been like night and day and a return to previous form! He provides thorough explanations of all options for a specific issue and possible outcomes etc. He comes across to patients as personable, highly knowledgeable and his relaxed attitude would put nervous patients at ease... I could have dozed off during a composite 'filling' if my "gob" had been mechanically jarred open!I was thrilled with the end result of both the restoration of my tooth and of my faith in dental care. If you have to be seen by a dentist then this is the place to go. Everyone is really friendly and professional. Big shout out to my dentist Tina and dental nurse Hannah. They are both amazing. Whilst I don’t particularly enjoy visits to the dentist I don’t dread them either. That’s a huge plus for me. Thanks guys!

Had an emergency appointment here too remove a broken tooth the dentist who saw me was such a lovely lady , very caring and made sure i was ok . My appointment was very quick and efficient. I booked a time slot on Sunday morning and arrived right on time for emergency care. The kind dentist quickly identified the problem, gave me a diagnosis, prescribed antibiotics, and that was it! I only paid for the emergency visit, so I’m not sure about the regular prices, but the staff were all very nice and professional. Unfortunately, I’ll have to visit my regular dentist tomorrow to say a sad goodbye to my tooth!

Broke a tooth while eating lunch at 1300. My own dentist couldn't see me so phoned around and Lovely Lane put me in an hour after calling. From incident to repair within 3 hours. Now that's amazing. Great service, great treatment.

I managed to get an appointment with Stephen for a failed wisdom tooth extraction that my own dentist had done. He was AMAZING! After thinking that I would need my gum cut and stitched Stephen had the tooth out in a couple of minutes with no further damage. I can't thank him enough after weeks of pain 😁

I’ve always been really nervous about going to the dentist — it’s something I’ve struggled with for years. But from the moment I stepped into the clinic, I felt completely at ease. Dr. Porter is absolutely amazing. They have such a calm and reassuring presence that made me feel safe and genuinely cared for. Was treated off Stephen Porter for a bridge and from start to finish he was kind, considerate and extremely patient with a nervous dental patient. My teeth started breaking down when I was in school- I had my first root canal at 17ish. I have spent easily 10k keeping the teeth I have in my mouth in place. I am terrified of the dentist. The folks at this dentist are super great and super nice. They are great. Yes I’m still terrified anytime I’m at the dentist but they are super cool about it and do a good job of helping me take care of my teeth. I see Khadijah Khaled and she is fantastic.

As someone who had childhood dental trauma, this is THE best place to go. Been to see Stephen Porter today for a wisdom tooth extraction. I've been terrified of having this done and nearly cancelled due to fear. I've stressed for nothing. The injections didn't hurt, the extraction didn't hurt and everything was over in a couple of minutes. I feel ridiculous for worrying about it. I actually nearly cried with the relief when he told me the tooth was out.Everything was explained in detail beforehand too.Thanks again x

I went in for the first time due to a toothache and I was taken in very quickly, even without a prior appointment. Everyone, including the dentist that examined me was very polite and friendly. Two weeks later I went in again, again without appointment, and I got the same treatment. I appreciate this as things like this make life easier and my tooth issue much more bearable.I recommend this clinic very much.

Just home from the fitting of 4 crowns replacing my 4 upper front teeth - 2 of which were filled & the other 2 were old loose crowns. Alongside home whitening this has transformed my smile so I am really pleased with the outcome - Stephen Porter & his team including the dental technicians who made the crowns have done a great job. Highly recommended & not as expensive as I had anticipated….

Nobody likes going to the dentist right? That said, I can't recommend the practice more highly. First off, a massive thank you to the dentist Qaseem Hussain (sorry if the spelling is off!). He was brilliant from the first consultation to the treatment itself. He extracted my tooth without me even realising he'd done it! Literally didn't feel a thing!!The pricing was transparent and no pressure selling. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and I would happily recommend to others.

UPDATED REVIEWThis dental practice is good, but as you can see from my original review below, I was initially more than a little disappointed by an apparent overcharge. (Emphasis on word "apparent")In my opinion the pricing structure advertised on the Emerdency website is very misleading. If you book any appointment through Emerdency for this or any other dental practice, please assume that you will require "advanced" £120 treatment, even if it's not an extraction or root canal treatment. Please ignore the £40 price band completely. If you happen to get a £40 treatment, enjoy the saving as a bonus, and maybe donate it to Charity, or give it to me.Ultimately I paid the going rate for the treatment I received, it didn't go quite right at first, but they went out of their way put it right, and I truly appreciate that.Why not 5 stars? Well, they're using a booking agent with a misleading website, and they arguably should've taken that into account when explaining the price of proposed treatment to me. Some stress could have easily been avoided.Finally, having returned to the practice again today, I can report that the receptionist is still lovely.ORIGINAL REVIEWThe booking process through Emerdency was excellent and the charges clearly shown. £49 booking and consultation fee, and then a treatment fee of either £40 or £120 for advanced treatments such as extractions or root canal treatments.In my case my tooth was chipped at the front, and I needed a cosmetic filling taking 5 minutes, for which I was charged the higher advanced fee of £120. I have contacted Emerdency and hopefully this can be rectified swiftly, with the £80 overcharge refunded. I'll update this review appropriately.Receptionist was pleasant.UPDATE 1: The cosmetic filling crumbled after less than 48 hours, so the situation is infinitely worse. I'm trying to remain hopeful they'll do the decent thing and sort this mess out quickly. I have an important appointment to attend.UPDATE 2: The reason for the £120 charge was apparently because they gave me a "permanent" filling and not the "semi-permanent" (AKA temporary) one described on the Emerdency website. So, this could be a case of somewhat unclear advertising on the Emerdency website, and poor communication from the surgery. Some research reveals that the typical private cost of a permanent filling ranges from £80 to £120.UPDATE 3: Another dentist at the surgery is going to try to fix my tooth today, it looks like I'll miss my appointment, but in fairness he did his best. He has suggested it won't be the 5 minute treatment I had before, so maybe there's some more stars coming here.

If I could rate more stars I would. I had an urgent issue that needed to be seen to and Dr Stephen Porter was absolutely fantastic. I hadn't been to the dentist since I was at school (left at 16 and am 35 now). I was so embarrassed, ashamed and scared about the state of my teeth and he was so professional, kind and so outgoing. Especially when I needed a tooth to be removed and I explained I have a needle phobia. Not only did I not feel a thing but he made sure I was okay every step of the way and was re assuring me the whole time.If I had a dentist like him years ago I wouldn't have been so afraid to see him. I'm registering my daughter to see him as with someone like him dealing with her she will have no fear and will grow up with a beautiful smile.Thank you so much Stephen.

I had 2 extractions first thing at 8:30am. Dr Porter made sure I was 100% comfortable and happy before taking the teeth out. I felt absolutely nothing. I managed to get a next day emergency slot and went in to have a broken tooth looked at, I was prescribed antibiotics to clear an infection before returning just over a week later when I had to have a molar tooth extracted. I couldn’t have asked for a more patient and understanding dentist (an extraction specialist) who kept me well informed and at ease (as much as is possible for such a nervy customer) throughout the whole procedure, which was over with in a surprisingly short time and in as little discomfort as I could have ever imagined. Would highly recommend this practice if you need to have any dental work done, particularly if you’re nervous or have phobias about such things. Excellent service.

What a lovely experience I had today . After searching around to find a dentist to assist me with chronic tooth ache , lovely lane dental practice came to my rescue, I had to have a tooth extracted and Steve the dental technician and his assistant made it so enjoyable and pleasant and managed to see me the same day 🙏🏻they are knowledgeable and professional and so lovely to deal with , I have also decided to join the membership scheme to keep good care of my teeth, we also spoke about a teeth straightening plan , that I am so excited about .5 Star practice well done to everyone at lovely lane dental practice. I went in for advice on my baby incisor tooth which has remained all of my life after an operation to remove the big tooth in my gum. That was 1989! Dr Stephen Porter was excellent from the start. He advised against removing the tooth because after scans the roots were strong. Instead I had the existing tooth built up with composite filling at a fraction of the price. The end result is superb and I have a normal smile for the first time in my adult life. Thank You.

I managed to get an emergency appointment the day after calling, saw a very nice, young dentist who did X-rays and found a filling was needed. Being in an extreme amount of pain, he agreed to come in early the following day to carry out the treatment. Granted, I had to pay to go private for the treatment but the staff on reception, the dentist and his nurse went out of their way to carry out the treatment needed and I can’t thank them enough. Very helpful and professional staff.

Mr Porter discussed all of concerns before the work and brought me back to do the work, he was so calming and understanding it really put me at ease. I had a few needles and didn't feel a thing. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone with phobias. Nurses were excellent as well made me feel relaxed and reception are very helpful and professional.

I arrived early, and was also seen early by Mr. S. Porter as usual he was very welcoming, efficient and took time to discuss my dental issues and ensure I was happy with all parts of the examination. I would have no hesitation recommending this practice.

I was grateful to receive a safe and thorough examination this morning, including X rays. As I'm receiving Chemotherapy treatment at present it was good to be reassured that any dental problems can be dealt with promptly and we've made appointment for next examination in 6 months. After 10 years of dental phobia.. I was petrified of seeing anyone or having anyone see or be in mouth... I cried before I even sat in the chair the 1st time which was just a little look and antibiotics but even then to go back and actuallyturn up for an extraction was somethingI didn't think I would ever do!... I have the extraction last week I was shaking from head to toe in the chair and very nearly said just leave it!! But again I was greeted with such calmness and reassurance that It done even as a nightmare of a patient shaking and panicking... it was not a problem for him way so ever... it was the best dental experience even under the circumstances and I cannot recommend them enough! Due back in 2 weeks and im actually looking forward to it for more pain free work!!! Thank you guys so much for your patience and your amazing work... I look forward to my smile ive been waiting years for!!

The experience was fantastic. Very genuinely helpful and informative staff, cant thank the team enough for all of their help giving me a better smile. Was always very insecure about the crooked bottom teeth and the gaps in my top teeth, after just 5 months they are now perfect!

Dr Porter has been my dentist for over 25 years. He understands my anxieties concerning any dental treatments that I need. He is so reassuring and explains everything that he has to do very thoroughly which helps to put me at ease. Have visited the dental surgery on a couple of occasions. I would highly recommend this dental surgery. The staff are not only friendly and welcoming but the dentist I have been seeing is incredibly friendly, professional and made me feel at ease (which is not an easy task!). I have complete trust in the dentist and will be going back here.

If you are looking for a dentist surgery I would highly recommend Clayton and Scott. I hadn't been to the dentist in 14 years due to fear, I broke a wisdom tooth and knew I had to have it removed. Steve the Dentist honestly made me feel calm, he explained everything and was as gentle as he could be. Now I've had a few procedures and do not fear as much as I used too!I cannot stress how lovely the staff are also and make you feel welcome.
